Like all the schools in our district, Cummings Elementary is focusing on Every Day 24J and the importance of regular student attendance.

Principal Magda Romero at Cummings recently nominated Northwest Dental Art and Sleep Therapy as the district’s Business Partner of the Month for January 2020, because of its help with increasing school attendance.

Dr. Jennifer Frankel and her team graciously donated two brand-new bicycles to Cummings Elementary. The school is using them as a way to incentivize students to continually improve their attendance.

Every month that a student has perfect attendance, meaning no unexcused tardies or absences, they are entered into a raffle. At the end of the year, two students will each win a bike!

Dr. Frankel is a long-standing member of the Keizer community. She is a member of the Keizer Chamber of Commerce and the Keizer Greeters. Her support has already made improvements to Cummings, as the school is seeing an increase in student attendance because of the raffle.

The generosity of her clinic has spread to other schools in the Keizer community as well. Two new bikes were also donated to Kennedy Elementary to be given to students with excellent attendance.

Principal Romero would like to say a special thank you to Danielle Bethell and the Keizer Chamber of Commerce for connecting Keizer businesses with local schools.

Thank you Dr. Frankel and Northwest Dental Art and Sleep Therapy. We’re all looking forward to seeing new attendance records and finding out who wins the bikes come June!
